5 Ways To Grow on Instagram (Organically)

Instagram seems to be an ever-changing app. There are constantly new developments and updates to the social media algorithm. It can feel like a task to keep up. Nonetheless, Instagram is an important and useful platform for growing any e-commerce business. With the right strategy and tips, you can create brand awareness, engage with your target audience, and overall your marketing goals. Here are some ways to do that.

Shareable content

Instagram loves when its users are engaging on their social media app. The more users are engaging with your content, the more Instagram will help push and promote your page. By posting sharable content, it ensures that the page’s engagement stays high and increases chances of the algorithm posting your business on explore pages and suggestions in relevant feeds. Some great examples for beauty and lifestyle businesses are memes, tutorials, inspirational quotes, infographics, and video content.

Keywords

Recently, Instagram updated to focus on using keywords and captions to help the platform be more useful as a search engine. Similar to how one would be able to search hashtags, now users are able to search any word and Instagram will also highlight content with that word whether it is hashtagged or not. Hashtags are still essential but with this new update your captions can appear more organic and relatable to your followers.  Another great way to use keywords is by implementing them into your page bio. By doing this, your page will appear when users search for content that relates to your business.

Curation and Consistency

Consistency is the key for maintaining your followers and attracting users to your page. Instagram’s algorithm can be to your benefit when it has a lot of content to work with. The more consistency in each post, the more accuracy in how the algorithm promotes your business. Coupling curation and timing will help solidify your brand identity and allow followers to know what to expect.

Influencer Marketing

Influencers are a sure way of helping you gain followers and engagement. The key is finding an influencer that aligns with your business and has a demographic of followers you want to attract. Once you find the right influencers and audience, then you can develop a campaign that helps promote your brand. This campaign can be sending out samples, inviting the influencer to a business, or going live with the influencer. For example, having a beauty influencer post a tutorial with your company’s new product can attract new customers and promote the product.

Scheduling & Content Calendars

Finally, scheduling is a sure way to maintain the followers you already have and encourage new ones. Schedule your post to help organize all of your efforts. There are several different apps that help schedule stories and posts ahead of time. Another tip is to develop a content calendar for each quarter and then another one for each month within the quarter.
