According to Social Media Today, TikTok has become Google's top competitor in web search and discovery. Google’s Senior Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan recently confirmed that the search giant does indeed see TikTok as a risk.

Studies show, something like almost 40% of young people, when they’re looking for a place for lunch, they don’t go to Google Maps or Search. They go to TikTok or Instagram. Recently, TikTok has begun experimenting with linked keywords in both comments and video descriptions, which take the user to a search page for that keyword when clicked. According to Cloudflare data, TikTok.com has overtaken Google as the most visited domain in the world, so developing a TikTok-centric marketing/SEO strategy can prove to be beneficial.
